Are there any stores that have good discounts on makeup in Canada?
I live in Canada and I usually buy my makeup at Shopper's Drug Mart. But lately, the prices seem to have gone up allot. I like the brands Annabelle, Rimmel London, Covergirl, Maybelline New York and Wet n' Wild allot. Are there any other stores I could find these brands at for cheaper prices. I'm pretty sure they have some at Wal-Mart but I'm not sure. Any store in Canada, I don't really care, I just want to find better prices because it's becoming hard to afford.

Where can I get a full professional quality makeup up kit (like MAC, Sephora) for a good/discounted price?
MAC doesn't sell full kits of any sort, really. And most websites that say they sell ';complete MAC kits'; of any sort are most likely selling fakes. (Fake makeup can be VERY unsafe, because you have no idea what's in it!) If your heart is set on MAC makeup, the best way to get your hands on the inexpensive stuff would either be to get a Pro card (if you're a professional makeup artist or a model) or to check out a Cosmetics Company Outlet (or CCO).
I know Sephora puts out kits from time to time, especially their Blockbuster sets. Ulta has some really great kits too. They go on sale from time to time, or if you get on their mailing list/discount card doo-dad, those are usually good ways to score some pretty sweet discounts as well.
If you are interested in a full kit, NYX cosmetics does offer two different complete starter kits that come with makeup, a solid train case, and some brushes:

For professional quality and a good range of industry-standard colours and products, I would try Camera Ready Cosmetics:

They sell complete kits, as well as a range of palettes, etc. La Femme and Nixie are both good quality brands that are a lot easier on the wallet than MAC or Sephora.
You can certainly try eBay or your local cosmetics outlet stores; just be very careful because many outlets are selling discontinued items that may (often) be expired. Just know what is currently available at the MAC counter and shop accordingly.
Also, use caution with eBay as they are notorious for selling fake MAC products, especially the pigments.

ELF is good quality and everything costs $1 each, but they don't have much color selection when it comes to eyeshadows. Wet n' Wild has a ton of colors and their shadow quads are very nice.

Ebay is a good place, but you have to be very careful--it has become flooded with tons of fake MAC that look like the real thing.
Your best bet is to see if there is a CCO near you. The CCO, or Cosmetics Company Outlet (sometimes listed as Estee Lauder/CCO) has discounted makeup from many brands (MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, etc.). Usually MAC products will be 30% off the regular price.

Where to find Discount Pigment Makeup?
Ok so i bought a whole set of pigment makeup by pure color (the loose powder that can be used as anything) at a hair show a few months ago and now am needing some funky unusual colors... ok problem is I don't want to spend $50 on one stack when i bought a whole kit for that at a hair show LOL little did I know how good of a deal I was getting... I am also not really interested in paying the prices for MAC and all of that because it is not something I am going to be using on a regular basis.. basically just something I am going to play around with.

Everything is real. This site is legit and you get brand new make-up at a lower price. The site is also a good source to find discontinued collections. There are lipglosses that would normally cost $18 in the store that sell for only $11 on the site! The only bad part is a lot of the items don't come in their packaging.
In my opinion, MAC is not the best. However, it is very good. Certain brands produce certain great products. MAC has a huge variety of great lipsticks and eyeshadows and a bunch of other items. However, I wouldn't say I love them because there other items I never use from MAC like their mascara, foundations, and powders (I have really sensitive skin.) I think good make-up is worth the money but don't spend you life savings on the stuff! Invest in a few products first to see if you like the quality and then invest in more. Personally, MAC is not one of my favorite brands and I go more for Nars and Lorac. Certain items from MAC will be ';worth it'; and some won't. It also depends on your own opinion. I don't think MAC is too expensive considering some other brands. If you look at it, Revlon lipsticks are $8-9, MAC lipsticks are $14, Lorac lipsticks are $19, and Urban Decay lipsticks are $22. So MAC in a sense is in the ';middle range'; when it comes to prices. Be sure to test out the items for quality and color. You can also find reviews from lots of people on different make-up items on this site:

I always check this site before I buy something. It really helps because I get a feel for what the product is like. For instance, if the product only has a one star rating, I don't even bother looking at it in the store.
One last thing.. Buying MAC off ebay does not automatically mean it's fake. You need to find a credible seller. There IS real MAC on ebay but there's a ton of fakes. You need to extensively review the photos of the product, packaging, and look at the seller's feedback. Also be sure to ask the seller questions if you have any (this will also show you if they are willing to communicate witht their buyers or not.) If you do happen to buy a fake off ebay, PayPal will take care of it for you and your money will be refunded.

don't wast your money. i have never tried mac, it very bad for your skin. i have never seen a well known makeup artist use mac. and let be honest i've seen a lot of the girls that do weare mac and it look terrible most of the time. i would recommend prescriptives cosmetics. there products are dermatologist recommended.

Since you're wearing it everyday, you should invest in better makeup. If you want to learn how to enhance the looks of others, why not start with yourself? Cheap makeup can really screw your skin up. (some of them) And since you're in beauty school, you don't want people to laugh at you for your hideous makeup. Discount sales might not be good because sometimes, the liquid foundation have expired or near expired and the oil has already separated from the color, similar to nail polish that's been sitting in the shelf forever.
i would by from a drug store or a coustume store. if you could invest in ben nye final seal. it's 6 bucks and it will make your make-up last all day.

I would say, if you want quality products, begin to save your money. You will thank yourself you didnt get a cheap knockoff that can damage your skin, or bought an old Mac that might have something wrong.
I would say, save your money and buy the proper MAC and be happy.

You can get a discount at MAC if you are a 'performer' or in the makeup field. I'm a former professional ballet dancer, and if you show valid ID that you are an artist or theater person, you get 15% off I think...maybe more, I can't recall. So my advice is to hang out backstage at some theater and befriend someone so you can use them for a MAC discount! ha ha
The employee discount you get depends on what store you work for. Dillard's has a 25% employee discount; Robinson's May has a 30% discount, Penny's has a 10% discount. Some stores let you use your employee even on clearance items -- I wrecked havoc with $60 that day!
Cosmetics counters do not ever discount their makeup; it never goes on sale. The only time you might really get a deal at a makeup counter is when they're ';in gift';; i.e., when you buy two items to get the free gift back, or when they are discontinuing an item.
